Insulation and Drywall

Insulation and Drywall

This stuff isn’t particularly exciting. But it will keep us very, very warm. And, for now it’s the first thing that creates a sense of real walls, so it’s helping us visualize how the rooms will feel after the sheetrock goes on. Which I think is next week.

First they come in and spray an expansion foam on the walls that encapsulates the entire space. (It also locks all the wiring behind a wall of Styrofoam type material, so we sure hope we thought of everything we wanted.)

Next, different people come and put a thin netting over the walls. After that, they come back with another truck and blow white fluffy insulation behind the netting. The result looks a little like a mattress. With two by fours running down the middle every couple of feet.
